The number of Bayshore Medical Center emergency department visits per year continues to grow year after year. This project increased the size of the emergency services department and provides private treatment spaces to all patients. The new addition that houses the emergency department is oriented towards a major highway. This orientation allows for visual recognition from both surrounding local roads and the highway, reinforcing the destination of the ED and the Hackensack Meridian Brand. The ED includes treatment sites, a crisis unit, and dedicated Imaging services. The main lobby has been relocated across the campus, a move that places it close to a majority of the available site parking and the Outpatient Services. A major corridor connects the main lobby to a major portion of the outpatient services and access to vertical circulation to bed floors. This clarity within the facility improves wayfinding and the overall experience of patients and visitors.
