The scope of the project was to replace the existing Varian linear accelerator with the new Varian Edge. In conjunction with the new linear accelerator, the Brain Lab team provided integrated components to allow for continued studies.

The project was complicated by the necessity to change the isocenter of the new linear accelerator. Full physics studies had to be done to assure that surrounding rooms would have the required radiation protection. Our study indicated an adjacent restroom required protection and the design remedy was to add a shield of lead bricks within the room.
