FCA partnered with world renowned Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Division of Infectious Diseases, to provide a state of the art diagnostic and anti-infective therapies facility. The 25 exam room clinic co-locates services for patients with an array of infectious diseases including infections obtained after transplantation or on medical devices, HIV and viral hepatitis. In addition to the various multidisciplinary sub-specialists within the clinic, facilities were created to accommodate a nutritionist, an on-site pharmacy, phlebotomy services, and 18 bay infusion suite and a full complement of social work and case managers.
The design incorporated Johns Hopkins patient registration kiosks stream lining the registration process for patients. These patients with complex treatment regimens can be treated at one location, improving their care by creating treatment plans that are better coordinated across disciplines. The stress for patients that must attend multiple physician appointments is also alleviated with this multi-disciplinary approach.
