The project fulfills a growing demand by the community for top primary and specialty care physicians. The Henry P. Erdman Educational Center provides students with an opportunity to work with physicians and patients, allowing them to receive greater individual attention and learn compassion for patients.
The facility serves the surrounding community by housing more than 50 primary care and specialty care physicians. It is designed with open and shared office spaces for better communication between physicians and patients. Other patient services include outpatient diagnostic laboratory and radiology services on the ground floor.
The educational component accommodates 40 students from the nearby medical school. A student-training center is outfitted with a preceptor room, videotaping review facilities, and a conference center. In this training center, medical student areas are adjacent to physician offices and give students the unique perspective of observing “real-world” medical processes and interacting with patients.
