The design of the Nemours Outpatient Services Center in Glen Mills, PA, focuses on sports therapy, occupational therapy, orthopedics, cardiology, ophthalmology, neurology, behavioral health and diagnostic imaging. Planned with the patient experience as a driving factor, key adjacencies between specialties allow for limited patient traffic between disciplines. The use of color also emphasizes distinction and aids visitors in wayfinding between specialties within the clinical zone. Shared clinical core support spaces allow for consolidated programmatic needs and efficient care flow. The diagnostic imaging was centrally located to be easily accessible from both clinical and physical care populations. The project included the design of a high energy sports therapy gym to appeal to the adolescent age group while designated safe quiet zones protect toddlers and children. In addition, the reception and waiting area were heavily branded to enforce the Nemours presence to the community.
